We run pay-as-you-go drawing and painting classes in London most Saturday from 11am to 3pm. Beginners to art are particulary welcome.
What we do in our drawing and painting classes
When you arrive at the
studio, your tutor
Nick Malone starts by encouraging you just to try out the pencils and
paints in a very friendly and relaxed atmosphere. With everyone working at their own pace, there are normally three elements to our group classes:
By far the most important part - your own artwork. Many students choose to keep work at the studio and create and develop their painting and drawing projects over time. The drawing and painting
class is small so Nick has time to answer any specific question you might have. The classes are friendly and completely non-judgmental, so please don't worry if you are new to art.
Each week there is instruction in one aspect of the techniques of painting and drawing; the art course covers ten topics which builds up to cover all the basics, with a certificate at the end
(this is non-assessed). Classes are designed to be taken alone so you can attend when you are available rather than committing to a course.
It's exciting and fun to know what’s going on in the world of contemporary art, and it gives you confidence. London has some of the best art galleries in the world, so we look at current
exhibitions to help you make the most of the art scene this great city has to offer. All this is done in a completely accessible way with no pretentious art jargon.
Use of all materials and a fabulous lunch of fresh baguettes, cheese, grapes and wine is included. Please let us know if you have a dietary requirement. We work
on paper in the class but you are welcome to bring a canvas along if you prefer.
Gift vouchers are also available for the Saturday classes, please email us if you would like to purchase one.
